Notes: Died during the pest-epidemic (Apr 4, 1668 to Oct 23, 1669) Once Barend had completed his trade as cobbler/shoemaker, he practised hi s trade while travelling, until he settled in Leyden, Holland . There he changed his surname to Schout, the Dutch equivalent of Schulte.
