Notes: Baptised in Walgrave with two sisters, Mary and Margarete, when he was abo ut 11 years old. He was appointed legal guardian to his brother's four children on the dea th of their mother Elizabeth (Hensman) when the children were all still mi nors. In his own will, dated July 22, 1751, he left the majority of his esta te to his nephew Robert. He makes no mention of any closer relatives a nd it seems likely that he never married.
