Notes: Arthur Knight was born in 1857 to William & Mary Knight, at Walgrave, Nort hamptonshire, he was Christened at Walgrave January 3rd 1858. In 1861(cens us) Arthur is 3yrs old, he is living with his Parents and three brothe rs in Walgrave. In 1871(census) Arthur is still living with his Parents, G randfather and five siblings in Walgrave. He is Employed as a Shoemaker. L ike his brother Owen, Arthur then Joined the Police Force. In 1881(censu s) Arthur is 23yrs old, he is stationed at Kettering, Northamptonshire a nd living as 'head boarder' at Kettering Police Station with three other c onstables and Labourer Harry Mason, who was a prisoner in the cells. Arth ur married Elizabeth Hurst (whose Father was also in the Police forc e) at Thrapston, Northamptonshire. In 1891(census) Arthur now 34yrs has be en promoted to Police Sergeant, He is living with his wife and four daught ers at Finetton Road, Irthlingborough, Norhamptonshire. In 1901(census) Ar thur is now 43yrs old, he is no w stationed again at Kettering and livi ng at 24,Connaught Street, with his wife and seven children, Arthur is sti ll a Police Sergeant.
