In 1891( census) the family were at 101, Vernon Road, Leicester. By 1891 Joseph w as a Coal dealer, Carter and Trap proprietor. In 1901(census) Joseph a nd Mary are living at 305 Saffron Lane, Aylestone, Leicester, where Jose ph is the live-in Steward of a working mens' club. From 1903 Joseph w as a fishmonger and frier, and lived a various addresses in Leicester, eve ntually living at 10, New Park Road. He died (7a,65) aged 79.
