Notes: In 1851(census) living with his recently widowed mother in Moulton, Northa nts. In 1861(census) he is staying in Walgrave with his uncle Robert and a unt Sarah. His mother does not appear in the census! In 1871(censu s) he is living with wheelwright Robert Wiggins and his wife in High Stree t, Moulton. He is an Apprentice Wheelwright. Robert does not appear on any further census returns. He may possibly ha ve emigrated to 'the colonies', which were attracting a growing numb er of craftsmen in the later years of the 19th century.
