Judith Newcomen, d. 1652, eldest dau ghter of Sir Robert Newcomen, 1st Baronet,(9) of Moystown, Kings County , by his wife Catherine, daughter of Sir Thomas Molyneux, Chancellor of t he Exchequer of Ireland.(10) Surprisingly, her ancestry, for all its cons iderable distinction, does not include any traceable royal lines. However , through their son Sir William Ussher of Portrane, she and her husband w ere direct ancestors of H.M. the late Queen Mother.(11) “Ussher of Eastwell,” Burke’s Landed Gentry, 1855 ed., 1252-53 . Gisborne Molineux, Memoir of the Molineux Family (1882), p. 83, state s that he was born at Calais in 1581 (a misprint for 1531), and was 2 CON C descended, “it is supposed, from Sir Thomas Molyneux, second son of Si r William Molyneux, of Sefton [in Derbyshire], Knight Banneret.” This wou ld be very interesting if true, but there is no mention of him in the acc ount of the Molyneuxs of Sefton in The Victoria History of the County o f Lancaster, 8 vols.
