England - Wales GRO index, Mar 1/4 Folio 6a/373 and presuma bly married about the period 1926 - 1930. Her father was Martin Alfred Cooke, born Stroud, Gloucestershire in 1872 . He married in Stroud in 1902 but the name of his spouse is unknown at t his time. He qualified as a doctor in London at St. Barts. Hospital and p racticed medicine at Stroud, Glouc., and later at Norwood, South London . He was Surgeon Capt. in the 2nd V.B. Glouc. Regiment and subsequentl y a Lt. Col. in the R.A.M.C. of the Territorial Army. He was still in 2 C ONC practice in 1937 and had been awarded the O.B.E .
