Notes: Elizabeth Knight was born in 1826 at Walgrave, Northamptonshire to Jose ph & Elizabeth Knight. In 1841(census) Elizabeth is about 20yrs old s he is visiting her Parents and five siblings at Walgrave, Northamptonshi re and works as a Female Servant. Elizabeth married Jesse Wilson on 28 th December that year at Walgrave, her marriage certificate describes h er as a Lacemaker of 'full age', but all following census returns sugge st that she was 16 at the time! The witnesses at the wedding were her brot her John and Elizabeth Blaxley who was to marry John eight years late r. In 1851 (census) Elizabeth is 33yrs old, she is living in Great Creato n, Northamptonshire with her Husband, two Sons and a Daughter. In 1861(cen sus) Elizabeth is now giving her age as 35yrs, she is living with her Husb and and three Daughters in Old, Northamptonshire and is working as a Dress maker. In 1871(census) Elizabeth is 45yrs old, she is still living in O ld with husband and younger two Daughters. In 1881(census) Elizabeth is n ow 55yrs old, she, her Husband and youngest Daughter Sarah are at Marti ns Top Farm, Flaunden, Hertfordshire, she is described as a Farmers Wif e. Also living with the Family are two farm Servants, a 15yr old Labour er & and 20yrs old Ploughman. In 1891(census) Elizabeth is now 65yrs ol d, she is now living at Rent Street Farm, Bovingdon, Hertfordshire. S he is a widow 'living on her own means' with daughter Sarah and her husban d, and Grandchildren. She died in the first quarter of 1901 (3a,417) ag ed 75.
