Barker is 4yrs old, In 1851 (census) he is living in Gre at Creaton, Northamptonshire with his Parents and Brother and Sister. In 1 861 (census) Barker is 14yrs old, he is an Apprentice Tailor lodging wi th his Master Tailor Charles Errington in Old, Northamptonshire. By 1871 ( census) Barker is 24yrs old, he has moved to London and is living at 7 1, Milton Street, Marylebone and working as a Tailor's Cutter. He is court ing a Norfolk girl, Mary Ann Suffling. They are married at Westminster lat er that year. The Couple are untracable in the 1881 Census and Mary see ms to have died as Barker marries again in 1883 to Alice Bailey. In 18 91 (census) 45 year old Barker and 28 year old Alice and their three child ren have recently moved to 13 Elliot Road, Thornton Heath, Croydon, Surre y. He is still a Tailors Cutter. Also living with the family is a Serva nt 17yr old, May Allen. In 1901 (census) the family, now with seven childr en, are still at 13 Elliot Road, and Barker is still working as a Tailo rs Cutter, they have a different servant now 16yr old Florence Cox
