Notes: Mary Elizabeth Smith, was born between October & December of 1873 at Mar ch Cambridgeshire to William & Anne Smith. In 1881 (census) Mary is 7yrs o ld & attending school, she is living in Hurst Lane, March with her paren ts & Siblings. By 1891 (Census) Mary is 17yrs old, she & her family have m oved to Wells Next Sea, Norfolk an are living at Stanley Cottage, Theat re Road, Mary is a Draper's Assistant. Mary appears to have been 'Christe ned' on 20th November 1893 at Wells, Norfolk aged 20yrs possilbly convert ing to Church of England after being brought up a Methodist. In 1901 (Cens us) Mary is 27yrs old, she is staying with her brother & his family at 1 86 Chobham Road, West Ham, also staying there is her Fiance Fredrick Willi am Waterson who she marries later that year on 4th September at Wells Pari sh Church. The Couple have two Sons (one who dies in infancy). In 1911(cen sus) Mary is 37yrs old, she is living at EAST END WELLS NORFOLK with her h usband & Son. Mary's Husband Dies 11 September 1912. Mary marries Hora ce Simpson on 16th September 1914 & her Brother John is a Witness. She out lived her second husband also, Died on 26 July 1967 at Downham Market ag ed 91yrs, her death was reported by her son Jack Waterson. Funeral Details from local Newspaper Mrs M. E. Hinson The funeral service for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hinson took place on Saturd ay at St Nicholas’ Church, Wells. Mrs.Hinson, widow of Mr. Horace Hinso n, was 92. The Rev. Howard Whyntle officiated.
