In 1851(census) John is 24yrs ol d, he is unmarried and lives with his Widdowed Mother, Siblings & Serva nt at the family Farm at 10 Mile Bank. John married Ellen Bossingham at Up well in 1853 and in 1861(census) John is 36yrs old, he is living on his Fa rm on Westgate St, Southery, Norfolk with his Wife, four Children & Servan t. In 1871(Census) John is 36yrs old, he is now a Widower, John is still l iving at his Westgate Street Farm which currently stands at 600acres a nd he employes 28 Men, 18 Boys & 2 Women. John is living with his five Chi ldren and a Housekeeper, Dairymaid & Housemaid. In 1881 (Census) John is 5 6yrs old, He is living at Hill House, Westgate St, Southery and his farm n ow stands at 526acres (his Son Joseph appears to have been given some of h is land as his own Farm, he employs 16 Men & 6 Boys. John is living with h is Middle Son Joseph & Youngest Daughter Elizabeth. Also residing at the h ouse is the same Housekeeper as before & one Domestic Servant. In 1891(Cen sus) John is now 66yrs old, he is still living at Hill House, but with on ly his youngest Daughter living with him, his Housekeeper & a Servant. Jo hn is still a Farmer/Employer. In 1901(census) John is now 76yrs old, h is Daugher, Housekeeper & two Servants still live with him and his is sti ll a Farmer. John Died in 1904 aged 79yrs.
