Notes: Herculé was a French Huguenot refugee from Courtrai. He arrived in the Ca pe in 1688 on the ship "Schelde," with his parents from Vlissingen, Nethe rlands. He was a member of the "Kollege van Landdrost" and heemrade of Stellenbos ch. He also served as captain of the "burger-kavallerie". Later he settle d on his father's farm "De Zoete Inval" (now Paarl Station).
