In 1911(Census) Phillip is 16yrs old, he is a School b oy at Wellingbough School and is still living with his Parents at the Corn er House in Old. A Second Lieutenant in B Company the 4th & 5th battalio ns Northamptonshire Regt, he was killed in action during World War One. H is grave, ref B.16, is at Dickebusch New Military cemetary at Ieper, West- Vlaanderen, Belgium. The New Military Cemetery was begun in February 19 15 and was used until May 1917 by fighting units and field ambulances, wi th a few further burials taking place in March and April 1918. The Extensi on was used from May 1917 to January 1918. The New Military Cemetery conta ins 624 First World War burials, the Extension 547. The site was design ed by Sir Edwin Lutyens.
