Notes: Elizabeth Ann Knight was born on 1st August 1851, in Walgrave, Northampton shire. she was the fith child of Anthony & Mary Knight. Elizabeth was chri stened on 19th March 1852 at 7mths old in Walgrave, Northamptonshire. In 1 861(census) Elizabeth is 9yrs old, she is living with her parents & eig ht siblings in Walgrave, and is attending school. In 1871(census) Elizabe th ,now 19yrs has left home, she is working as a Domestic Servant for 'Woo lstapler' James Gibson at 29, Lower Hastings Street, Leicester St Mar y. By 1881(census) Elizabeth is 29yrs but is still unmaried, she has bec ome a Shoefitter and is living with her younger brother Richard at 9, S. C ecilia Terrace, Peas Hill Road, Nottingham St Mary, before he emigrat ed to Australia. It Appears that Elizabeth remained in Nottingham for some time before she married Thomas (Known as Tom) Hallam a farmer, they marri ed on 5th April 1885 at St Paul's Church, Nottingham. Her Brother In L aw & John Hallam & her younger Sister Sarah Jane Knight were Wittness at t he Wedding. Elizabeth did have children very late in life, and appea rs to have lied about her age on her marriage certificate & the Census ret urn's. In 1891 she is living with her husband & two children at their Fa rm in Hurst Pierre Point, Nottinghamshire. The couple also a have gener al servant & three farm Workers, In 1901 (census) the family are livi ng at Brassingfield, Nottinghamshire, they have four Farmer Workers & o ne Domestic Servant. In 1911(census) Elizabeth 50yrs old is living with h er husband, her Sister & her Family at BASSINGFIELD, Holme Pierpoint, Nott inghamshire.
