Notes: In 1891(census) with parents and siblings in Old, Northants. In 1901(censu s) living at Pine Cottage, Walgrave with father, brother, and uncle Thom as and his two children. Edgar was a farmer and landowner, at one time own ing Wold Farm, Walgrave. He was later director of Kings Bacon factor y. He comitted suicide. He is buried at Swainsthorpe Church. It is believed that Edgar and Maude had two more children, both of whom di ed at a young age, between Elizabeth and Phillip. Maude was a cousin of her husband, and niece of Sarah Britten. She we nt to South Africa during the Boer War and became a nurse. It is believ ed that Edgar and Maude had been sweethearts in their teens, but when Mau de was in South Africa Edgar became engaged to a lady called Dolly, who se father ran the Ascot racecourse. He was about to travel to make the fin al wedding plans when he discovered Maude was returning to England. He pro mptly broke off the engagement and married Maude instead. In 1911(census) Edgar is living in Old with his Wife & Servant he is 25y rs old and a Cattle Dealer.
